The Palace of Knossos

Preveli Beach

Preveli Beach is located on the south coast, and is easily reachable from the north coast across the good roads. However, you will need to park about 30 minutes away and walk, but that’s not a problem. It’s well worth the trip, because this is absolutely stunning as a beach, but the real beauty often comes from the coastal drive. The views are stunning, and it’s a beautiful backdrop for your trip.
The Old Town
You know, Heraklion does have its fair share of amazing areas to look at. Specifically, you may want to take the time to visit the old town.
As a coastal fishing town in the past, the old town focuses around the harbour. If you’re a fan of history and like to see the local culture before tourism, this is a great place to visit. You’ll be thrilled by the old style buildings and general sense of historical culture that permeates the area. Plus, you get to drive through one of the nicer parts of the city.
